Mike Braid, MSEd, ATC
Certified Athletic Trainer
Mike earned a BS in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Central Michigan University and a Master’s of Science in Education with an emphasis in sports management from Northern Illinois University. He has spent the last 14 years coordinating Sports Medicine services at a local hospital and athletic training services to multiple local high schools. With expertise in athletic injuries and 23 years of experience, he is well known in the community and among physicians.
Mike teaches at GVSU in their athletic training program and lectures in multiple colleges in the Midwest on a variety of topics. He has served as athletic trainer for the GVSU national champion football team and has traveled around the world with USA Volleyball, serving as part of the US Olympic Committee Medical Staff for the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Professional Honors include the Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award in 2006 and induction into the Michigan Athletic Trainer Society Hall of Fame in 2008.
